10th Anniversary Art Exhibit- Living History: Our Stories from the 70s to Now

Asian American Cultural Center Presents “Living History: Our Stories from 70s to Now”

August 24, 2015 – December 1, 2015

Art Reception is on Friday, October 16th, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm

In conjunction with the (AACC) Asian American Cultural Center’s 10th Year Anniversary celebration, a new art exhibition entitled “Living History: Our Stories from 70s to Now” will be exhibited starting August 24, 2015 to December 1, 2015. In this art showcase, the AACC features archival materials capturing images of the past. This includes images of what happened before and after the creation of the AACC in the areas of student activism, advocacy, and campus involvement among Asian American Pacific Islanders from the early 1970s to the current era. The AACC was founded in fall 2005 through the dedication of many individuals particularly student leaders’ persistence in their demands for the administration’s support. We hope to convey the legacy of our alumni’s commitment to the overall creation and development of the AACC. This exhibit allows us not only to recognize the contributions of many individuals but also share the stories and voices throughout the history of Asian American movement on campus.
