The Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center celebrates its 45th Anniversary in 2014-2015

Special Awards Nominating Process

Our 45th Anniversary theme—Embrace. Engage. Evolve.— is a fitting theme. We embrace and honor the past; we engage the campus community and students in a plethora of culturally relevant activities; and we are evolving as the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century are presented. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is a great and distinguished institution that continues to groom the brightest minds and graduate some of the most impressive Alumni in the world. Thus, we want to honor those who have contributed to this 45-year legacy with special recognitions. Nomination forms are now live for our 45th Anniversary Commemorative Awards which were announced at the October 2014 Gala. The three awards are the (1) Distinguished Alumni Award, (2) Faculty/ Staff Award, and (3) Legacy of Community Advocacy & Service Award. Honorees will be recognized in spring 2015 at the Power Moves Luncheon & Ebony Excellence Awards Ceremony.
