In the world around us, the beliefs we hold can sometimes threaten to divide us. Whether religious, spiritual, or philosophical beliefs, we sometimes lack the nuance to avoid talking in broad generalizations about “who people are” or “what we believe.” But we all live together in this complex, diverse campus community, so we must work to understand each other for who we are. Join us for the 7th Annual Illinois Interfaith Conference Friday, March 9th and Saturday, March 10th at the University YMCA Building. Keynote speakers include Rev. Jason Carson Wilson, a queer faith leader and interfaith policy advocate in Washington, DC, and Candice Hunter, visual artist from Chicago focusing on issues of race, gender, and faith.  Workshops, performances, and cooperative art creation will explore the intersections between our faith, spiritual, and secular identities AND…

The Illinois Interfaith Conference is hosted by the Illinois Interfaith Challenge Initiative, a partnership between Interfaith in Action (RSO), Muslim Student Association (RSO), the University of Illinois Diversity & Social Justice Education, University Housing Social Justice & Leadership Education, the University YMCA, and Illini Hillel/Cohen Center for Jewish Life.
