Broadly stated, the mission of the Campus Committee on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Concerns (LGBT) is to provide advice and leadership on LGBT issues both for the LGBT Resource Center and the Urbana campus community. The committee is asked to address the needs of faculty, staff, and students of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities to help ensure a campus environment that allows full participation by all members of the campus community in our education, research, and public engagement missions.
The purpose of the LGBT Resource Center Advisory Committee is to review, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding the policies, programs, resources and services of the LGBT Resource Center by serving the needs of students, staff, faculty and community members of diverse sexual orientation and gender identities. The committee works to ensure an environment where interdisciplinary learning acknowledges and recognizes people of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender experience.
