Your Story Matters

your story matters

"I believe that telling our stories, first to ourselves and then to one another and the world, is a revolutionary act. It is an act that can be met with hostility, exclusion, and violence. It can also lead to love, understanding, transcendence, and community. I hope that my being real with you will help empower you to step into who you are and encourage you to share yourself with those around you." - Janet Mock

As LGBTQ people, we “come out”… telling our story of authenticity, our truth. Every situation asks us to process a risk to reward ratio, and each time we determine the reward outweighs the risk, we stand up as leaders in the community. It is the intent of this program to use stories of LGBTQ students, faculty, and staff as a beacon of hope, resilience, and resistance for those who have yet to share their story. Join the LGBT Resource Center for this amazing series and help remind all those around us, "YOUR STORY MATTERS."
