The disability ally program seeks to facilitate awareness, understanding, and competency of disability through resources, knowledge, and awareness of disability as diversity. ICARE BYSTANDER INTERVENTION TRAINING

In this highly interactive workshop, students will dialogue about consent and sexually disrespectful behavior, understand what helps people intervene, set a group norm in which sexually disrespectful behavior is recognized as a problem, and learn a variety of intervention skills. Currently offered by request to student groups. Sponsored by the Women’s Resources Center

LGBT ALLY NETWORK

Being an ally on gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender issues is the process of working to develop individual attitudes, institutions, and culture in which gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people feel they matter. In doing so, allies also work to end homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, and heterosexism. Open to students, faculty, and staff. Sponsored by the LGBT Resource Center and the Queers & Allies Committee of the Counseling Center

RACIAL JUSTICE ALLIES & ADVOCATES TRAINING

The Racial Justice Allies and Advocate training is designed to provide students, faculty, and staff with a core awareness of the structures of racism, its role in interpersonal relationships, and empower allies to elevate the voices of underrepresented populations at the University of Illinois. Trainings are presented as a 1.0 (introductory) and 2.0 (advanced) levels. All participants are strongly encouraged to attend the 1.0 session prior to attending the 2.0 session. Open to students, faculty, and staff. A collaborative project of Student Affairs, coordinated by Diversity & Social Justice Education

UNDOCUMENTED STUDENT ALLY TRAINING

Join us for a powerful and insightful training in how to be a resource to undocumented students on campus. We will provide a comprehensive training regarding immigration legislation, understanding DACA & administrative relief, resources for DACA students and narratives of undocumented students. VETERAN ALLY WORKSHOP

Veteran students come to college with unique backgrounds and experiences. Being well educated about these individuals would create a smoother transition into the learning environment of higher education. Open to university faculty and staff.
