This Tuesday, September 17th, come to La Casa to help us welcome our new director, Dr. Gioconda “Gio” Guerra Perez, from 4 to 6 p.m. Gio comes to the University of Illinois from Indiana University, Southeast, where she served as an Assistant Professor and had previous experience serving as the Director of the Hispanic Latino Center. Welcome, Gio!
This Thursday at noon, Lisa Ortiz will speak about experiences of Puerto Rican graduate students with English proficiency, placement, policies, along with its problems and possibilities, as part of our weekly discussion series Lunch @ La Casa.
And the first LACASO meeting of the year is Thursday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at La Casa.
